Born in the bustling city of Seoul, Korea, Gianna spread her wings and found herself in various Asian countries, mainly Malaysia, when she was just 12. At the age of 18, Gianna made her way to the United States for college, earning a B.A. in Religion and Economics from Emory University. She then returned to Korea for her master’s program, immersing herself in the essence of her roots while teaching Korean to children from immigrant families.
Now back in the United States, armed with a master’s degree in education focused on Korean from Queens College, Gianna is a certified Korean teacher in Korea and New York. She also holds a NYS special education certification, showcasing her dedication to inclusive and diverse teaching practices. Since 2013, Gianna has been igniting a passion for the Korean language and culture in public and charter schools, community centers, and churches, as well as the Korea Society for adult learners.
