Rachel Kim
Rachel Kim received her B.A. in Korean Education from Stony Brook University and is certified to teach Korean as a foreign language. Ms. Kim has worked with diverse groups of students in her teaching career so far. While pursuing her degree at SBU, she worked with high school students from all over the U.S.A. as a teaching assistant for the NSLI-Y program which brings high school students to South Korea for critical language study through linguistic and cultural immersion. She then taught at Bayside High School, to both heritage Korean and non-heritage students. Most recently, she taught Korean at Harlem Prep High School, located in East Harlem, where all the students were non-heritage learners and had little to no experience with the language and culture, but many were nonetheless able to engage and immerse themselves in Korean language learning.
Rachel is now an adjunct lecturer teaching Korean as part of the Asian and Asian American Studies Department at Stony Brook University.
